What a lovely letter. I am so flattered that Piper is your favourite book. That is the nicest thing an author could ever hear.

It’s incredible to me that you are in Australia and that I am in Canada and yet the distance seems so small because a book connects us together.

I think your dream of studying in England is a wonderful one and I have no doubt that you will realize it. It is a deep blessing to have such a passion and to be willing to follow it. Loving to read is essential to being a good writer so you are already well on your way.

I promise that I will keep writing, and I hope some day to hold one of your books in my hands. And then I can say that the distance between Canada and England doesn’t seem so great at all because your book will connect us together. I look forward to that day. :)

I remember reading Piper when I was 8. I remember loving it and pretending to be like Wesley. I remember taking it everywhere I went and scowling at everybody who told me to put it down. That lasted for about a week, until I gave in. I’m 13 now and it is still my favourite book of all time. I love to read(and write) and my dream is to study in England to become an author. You are one of the authors that have inspired me.

I’m Australian and I’ve never been to Europe, but it is my favourite continent(a bit weird to have one) and I dream to be able to travel there one day. I have always loved animals and I still do, but unfortunately I can’t have a pet as my mother is allergic to animal fur. Reading books about and Piper was one of those books. I haven’t read any of your other books, but I would very much like to as well. I hope that you’ll keep on writing because you are one of my favourite authors and your writing inspires me to write.

She is a really tough marker so I was a bit nervous. But because of your advice it worked out great! She absolutely loved it! I want to thank you because of you and your book writing!
